You guys! It's July! When, how, and why did this happen so quickly? I was on vacation last week on a cruise to Mexico, but I'm back and ready to crank out lots of new posts. Last month was awesome, and judging by how busy I've been the past two weeks, I have a feeling that July will be just as fun. Keep reading to see what I've been loving lately!
1. Maybelline Baby Skin Primer
I wrote an article for College Fashion last week where I compared this primer from Maybelline to the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation primer which I received in last month's Ipsy bag, and I was honestly really surprised to discover that I prefer the drugstore product over the super popular high end version. This primer feels so nice and smooth on your face, and I can really notice a difference in the appearance of my pores when I have it on. Good stuff, people, good stuff.
2. Pixi Eyeshadow Duo in "Apricot Glow"
I received this eyeshadow sample in my March Ipsy Bag, and I've been using it like crazy recently. I normally tend to stick with matte colors for my eyes, but lately I've been really into more shimmery and metallic shades, and I'm especially in love with the coppery tones in this duo from Pixi. I like putting the lighter shade on my lid and then using the darker shade for my crease and my lower lash line to enhance my eyes.
3. Pond's Dark Spot Correcting Cream
Ok y'all, I really, really like this moisturizer. I honestly have never used a night/day cream before other than my daily Cetaphil SPF moisturizer, but I think using this stuff at night has really made a noticeable difference in my complexion. It feels really nice and cool on your face when you apply it, and it has a glowy but non-greasy finish once it starts to dry. I've loved using this every night before I go to bed, and I'm excited to see the effect it has on my skin once I've used it for a longer amount of time.
4. Maybelline Brow Drama
I've been dying to talk about this product the entire month, so I'm thrilled to finally be able to tell you guys how great it is! As someone with naturally thick eyebrows, using eyeshadow to fill them in can look a little too intense for my taste. This tinted gel does an awesome job of taming my brows while also giving them just a hint of subtle definition and boldness, which I absolutely love. I love using this on days where I want to keep my makeup at a bare minimum because it adds a little extra something that's totally undetectable. Win, win, win.
5. Tarte LipSurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss
I received this little baby as a sample in a Sephora reward points gift set, and it pretty much blew my mind the first time I tried it. This gloss goes on clear and then reacts to your lip's coloring to give you a unique and natural looking pink shade. The formula is really glossy and isn't overly sticky, which I love, but it shines beautifully, smells tasty, and hydrates your lips. Hashtag blessed.
6. Simple Cleansing Micellar Water
If you're a regular on Youtube's beauty channels or a frequent beauty blog reader, it should come as no surprise that micellar water, which is used to cleanse the skin and remove makeup, is kind of a big deal right now. People are obsessed with Bioderma's version (which I've yet to try), but Simple Skincare released their own kind within the past year so I figured I'd hop on the bandwagon and see what all the fuss was about.
This stuff is so refreshing to use at the end of the day, especially right now during summer when it's usually super hot and muggy all day. It cools and soothes your skin while removing virtually every trace of makeup on your face, and is probably much more gentle to use than rubbing and scrubbing your face and pulling at your skin with a makeup wipe.
