Seriously, where has this month gone? As cliche as it sounds, time really does seem to speed up with every year of your life, and I'm really not sure how I feel about that. Halloween was last night, Thanksgiving is coming up soon, and I graduate college in less than 6 weeks (!!!!!!!), and it feels like it should still be early August.
Needless to say, this month has flown by and I've been busier than ever, but I've been having so much fun with my friends and family the past few weeks and my classes have continued to be challenging and rewarding....I'm a happy girl!
Read below to see what my favorite beauty products were this month!
This palette has been a staple in my every day makeup routine this month. Every shade is incredibly matte and pigmented, but also super blendable and natural looking. Lately, I've been putting "Desert" (top third shade from the left) on my lid and blending a tiny amount of "Rain" (bottom third shade from the left) into my crease with a fluffy blending brush. The end. That's it. It's incredibly simple and fool proof and I've been loving using it with super basic looks for class every day. My favorite shade in the entire palette is "Fire", which is the bright orange shadow in the bottom row. It adds such a beautiful hint of color without being too loud, and it's absolutely perfect for Fall.
This palette is super affordable and versatile, and also comes with a smudge stick waterproof eye liner in "Halfmoon" (aka "Black") which I forgot to include in the picture (sorry!).
As I mentioned above, my makeup routine has been super basic and natural this month, so of course I've been reaching for this blush from NYX every morning. I just tap my Real Techniques stippling brush onto the blush and then lightly bounce it onto the apples of my cheeks to create a healthy looking "no makeup" sort of flush. I don't see myself abandoning this blush any time soon, and I'm definitely going to pick up some more shades from this line the next time I'm at Target or Ulta!
This is by far my absolute favorite nail polish of all time. I love the Complete Salon Manicure line from Sally Hanson in general because of the super pigmented consistency and easy to use rounded brush, but this color just takes all of the cake. It's a mixture of taupe, gray, purple, and dusty pink, which basically means it looks amazing with everything you wear (if you're addicted to neutrals like I am, at least). Long story short, this color is on my nails almost constantly, and I get compliments on it all the time because it's so simple but also looks really put together at the same time. Love, love, love.
First of all, this stuff smells amazing. After spending a night in a smoky bar, this dry shampoo works wonders for getting rid of stinky hair smells while also giving you volume and an oil-free scalp. I wash my hair every other day, so I like using this on my no wash days when my hair starts to get a little limp and flat looking. It works especially well if you spray it on your roots before you go to bed because it will absorb oils overnight so you wake up with that "just washed" feeling! It also doesn't hurt that the packaging is freaking adorable...just sayin'.
If you want a lip product that lasts all day/night, doesn't smudge, is lightweight, affordable, and gives great color payoff, then look no further. This stain is seriously so low maintenance; it's like using a marker on your lips, and once you put it on you can't tell that you're wearing anything at all, which I love. I usually apply some chapstick on top of it to give my lips a little more moisture, as this stain can feel kind of dry and draggy without it, but it's still such an incredible product. I love darker lips for the fall and winter months, and this is by far the easiest way to achieve that rosy holiday look!
This mascara is the best thing that's ever happened to my eyelashes. That may have been a bit of an exaggeration, but seriously, it's officially my favorite mascara of all time. I had been using The Falsies mascara from Maybelline, but I really wasn't a fan of it because I felt that it made my lashes really clumpy and messy looking. This mascara, however, just makes my lashes feel clean afterwards, if that makes sense. It lengthens, separates, and the brush is perfect for grabbing the tiny little lashes on the sides of my eyes. I'm never turning back. The end.
