Although it's nice to have a vanity covered in gorgeous high-end makeup, it's even better to have a bank account full of money (well, not full, but you get the idea). It's no shock to anyone that drugstore products are so much more affordable than their department store sisters, and you can still find tons of amazing items without having to blow your entire paycheck at Sephora (unless you want to, in which case, more power to you).
Read below to see my all-time favorite drugstore beauty products!
1. NYC Sunny Bronzer
I've owned this bronzer for years, and even though I've bought a few high-end bronzers since purchasing this one, I still use it all the time because it's so great for contouring. It's great for lighter skin tones, it's completely matte, and it's so affordable. I think I bought it for under $3. Seriously. The color is an almost exact dupe of Benefit's Hoola Bronzer (it's maybe half a shade darker when I swatch it on my arm), and it blends out just as well.
2. NYX Butter Gloss in "Creme Brulee"
Pigmented? Check. Moisturizing? Check. Smells like love? Double check. NYX Butter Glosses are hands down my favorite drugstore lip product because they incorporate pretty much every factor I love in a lip gloss-and they come in practically every color under the sun. Except black, but isn't black a "shade" rather than a color? I don't know, I was not an art major, but, I do know that these lip glosses are amazing. You will love them, I promise.
3. L'Oreal Voluminous Original Mascara
As much as I adore the Maybelline Rocket mascara, I've recently been using this one from L'Oreal more often because it's a breeze to take off at night. Not only that, it's also just an all around amazing product for every day use. It lengthens, separates, adds volume, and is 100% #ClumpFree. What more could a gal ask for from a mascara, I ask you? I guess it could pay your rent, or walk your dog in the rain, or hold you in its arms at night and whisper sweet nothings into your ear..but let's not get carried away here. Ahem.
4. Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner
Hold up, wait a minute-I want this eyeliner to be a bridesmaid in my wedding (Am I marrying the L'Oreal mascara, you ask? The mind reels.). I briefly mentioned this liner in my very first favorites post way back in August, and even though I'm still pretty much attached at the hip to my trusty Stilla Stay Don't Stray liner, this one from Maybelline is an incredible dupe for it. The pointed felt applicator is by far my favorite in the drugstore liner world, and it's incredibly pigmented when compared to other drugstore options. I wore it to the pool once and it still didn't budge. It's that good, y'all.
5. Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
Fun fact: I don't remember using any other drugstore concealer before purchasing this one from Maybelline a few years ago. I know such a concealer existed in my past, but it apparently wasn't a memorable experience. This concealer, however, shall forever remain in my memory because I've used it consistently since I bought it. It's supposedly a great dupe for the NARS Creamy Concealer, and while part of me would like to own such a nice high-end product, a bigger part of me is more than happy and proud to know that I use a drugstore option that works just as well for a fraction of the cost. We're talking $5 vs. $30 for the exact same amount of product...come on now.
6. Maybelline Age Rewind Under Eye Concealer
Considering the fact that I've mentioned it four times already (in my Base Routine, Morning Makeup Staples, October-November Product Empties, and September Beauty Favorites), I debated whether or not to even include this concealer in this post. I just couldn't leave it out, though, because it might just be my favorite drugstore product of all time. I'll spare you the details of why I love it so much since I've raved about it so many times before, but in case you haven't heard about this miracle worker yet or have yet to try it out for yourself, just know that it's a life changer and you'll never be the same.
7. L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer
This is one of those lovely little drugstore makeup items that feels like a high-end product; not only is the packaging gorgeous (rose gold, yes please), the product itself is so nice. It's incredibly shimmery (but not sparkly), so it's best to mix it together with your foundation rather than applying it to your bare face like you would with a traditional primer. I especially love using this during Spring and Summer because it adds such a pretty and dewy highlighted effect to your skin without adding a ton of excess oil or shine.
8. Maybelline Color Tattoo in "Bad to the Bronze"
I've been through several on-again/off-again phases with this product, but lately I've been using it on a weekly basis because it's so simple and looks like you spent way more time on your eyes than you actually did. This is the only color I've tried from the Color Tattoo line, but I've heard great things about several other shades. I'm personally not a huge fan of really sparkly or shimmery eyeshadow, so this product is perfect for days where I don't feel like sticking with my usual matte shadow. It adds dimension and a hint of shine to your lids while also naturally defining your crease, plus it can be used as a base if you choose to layer other shadows on top of it. The possibilities are endless, y'all.
