After waiting for what seems like an eternity for it to get here, my August Ipsy Glam Bag finally arrived! If you're unfamiliar with Ipsy, it's a $10 monthly beauty subscription that contains 5-6 deluxe samples or full sized makeup, hair, skincare and body products from a variety of well known and upcoming brands. Each month features a specific theme, which all of that bag's products are centered around (this month's theme is "Prep School"). Best of all, the products come in a super cute collectible makeup bag that's completely different from month to month. Ipsy does not currently ship internationally, but it does ship to Canada, the United States, and US territories. Click here if you're interested in starting your own Ipsy subscription (which I highly recommend), and continue reading to see what I received in this month's Glam Bag!
1. Doucce Ultra Precision Eyeliner in Black
I couldn't begin to tell you how many black eyeliners I've gotten over the past few years of having an Ipsy subscription. I used to love getting them, but I've recently stopped wearing pencil liners, so this month's sample isn't of much use to me at the moment. However, the quality and formulation of this liner is really impressive, so I'll definitely be hanging onto it just in case I decide to start tight lining again.
2. Marc Anthony Nourishing Argan Oil of Morocco Oil Treatment
My hair has been my nemesis as of late, and I'm beginning to think it's partially due to the fact that I have no clue how to go about using the right styling products. For example, looking at this bottle of argan oil makes my head start to swim with questions...What is this? When do I use it? Where do I put it? Why am I so bad at this?!? Seriously though, I'm getting a hair cut today (is that a Hallelujah I hear from the sweet heavens above?), so I will be putting this stuff to the test once I get these horrendous dead ends taken care of.
3. City Color Cosmetics HD Powder
Not gonna lie, I was pretty pumped to get a loose powder in my bag this month. Out of the somewhat humble collection of high-end products I own, I realized the other day that I've never strayed from drugstore powders. While City Color may not be considered a "high-end" brand, I'm still excited to try a powder from a company other than Covergirl, e.l.f., or Neutrogena. (Side note, am I the only one who's border line terrified of mineralized products? Messiness gives me anxiety, y'all.)
4. Swissco Soft Touch Slant Tweezers
I'm taking this product as a sign from the Fleek gods that I need to get my brows done, like, immediately. It's been over a month, and it is obvious. As I mentioned above, I'm getting my hair cut today (in less than an hour, to be exact), and best believe I'll be requesting a brow wax as well. I've needed new tweezers for a while now, and I couldn't have asked for a cuter pair! Thank you, Ipsy!
5. Hikari Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Merlot
I've received quite a few products from Hikari in my Glam Bags over the years, and I've grown to be quite a big fan of their brand. Their packaging is always chic and minimal, which is a big selling point for me! This lip gloss is a really pretty deep and rosy mauve color, which is a bit too dark for my taste during the summer months, but I'll definitely be giving this another try once sweater weather rolls around (which, if I may point out, I'm super freaking excited for).
