Ipsy Glam Bag Review: January 2015

Elizabeth Mott: All Over Shadow Brush

First of all, how cute is this brush? I would be lying if I said I didn't let out a little squeak of excitement when I saw this in my bag, and I know I'll get a lot of use out of it because you can never have too many basic eye shadow brushes lying around. This brush retails for $9.99 and can be used all over the lid, in the crease and as a brow highlighter, plus the bristles are super soft and fluffy!

Hikari Cosmetics: Mechanical Eye Liner in "Storm"

It seems like I've been receiving black eyeliners in almost every Glam Bag for the past few months, so it was a nice surprise to see that this was in a metallic and sheeny gray. This liner, which retails for $13, has a really nice and buttery formula for easy application and can be smudged out for a smoky eye or simply used to define and line the eyes. I checked out Hikari's website to see what other colors they offer, and they have shades in teal, bright purple, and white!

La Fresh Eco-Beauty: Moisturizer

While skin care products aren't my favorite things to receive from Ipsy, I have to admit that I really like this moisturizer. It's softening, hydrating, all natural, and has anti-aging and skin firming properties. It also smells like fresh cucumbers and makes your skin feel nice and lifted, even after the first use. The reviews on their website for this moisturizer are out of this world, and even though it's a bit pricey at $40, it sounds like it's definitely worth the investment.

Pacifica: Natural Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow in "Ethereal"

I've been a huge fan of Pacifica's body products for a few years now, but try as I might, I just can't make myself love their makeup. I currently own two Pacifica eyeshadow palettes made with the same coconut infused formula, and I never use either of them. In my opinion, the pigmentation is incredibly light, the formula is too powdery, and it doesn't do a great job of staying on the lid. With that being said, I do think that this particular eye shadow would make a good highlighter because it's so sheer.

Velvet 59: Velvet Rose Lipgloss

Ok, I love this lipgloss. The color is gorgeous, the formula is nice and sticky (in a good way!), it smells like roses, and the applicator is a tiny little brush, which has always seemed very glamorous to me for some reason. I may be going out on a limb here, but you know that little *smack* sound that a really sticky lip gloss makes when you pull the applicator out? Maybe? Well this lipgloss has the most satisfying smack I've ever heard, and I'm in love. It retails for $19, which definitely makes me feel very lucky to have received it in my Glam Bag...and it smells like love. The end.

Did any of you receive an Ipsy Glam Bag this month? If so,what did you think about the items that you got? Thanks for reading!
