It's ipsy time again! These posts are quickly becoming my favorite things to blog about, I love trying out new products, and subscribing to ipsy is such a fun and affordable way to sample really awesome beauty products from really great brands. (Note: If you aren't familiar with ipsy, check out my first post here, or visit their website here!) This month's theme is Girl Meets Glitter, and I'm absolutely in love with my glittery silver and pink bag! While I'm slightly disappointed that I didn't receive any glittery products to sample, it's still a great bag and I'll definitely be using all of the products I received. Read below to see this month's ipsy Glam Bag!
This shimmery bronze cream eyeshadow is almost identical to Maybelline's ColorTattoo in "Bad to the Bronze", which is one of my all time favorite eyeshadows. While I still love my Maybelline version, this product from Be a Bombshell applies much more smoothly and has a silkier texture. I use my ring finger to apply it to my eyelids and blend it out, which is just about as easy as it gets when it comes to eye shadow application. This product can be used alone, or as a base to make powder eyeshadow last throughout the day. I'm super happy that I got this in my bag this month! Plus, it's a full sized product with normally retails for $14. Hell yes.
Winter is coming, which means my skin is about to get straight up parched, therefore, this hand cream could not have arrived at my doorstep at a more perfect time of the year. First of all, this stuff smells incredible. If someone were to somehow overdose on lemons, this is what it would smell like; I swear I can taste a lemon when I use this lotion on my hands. This product is made with coconut oil, shea butter, and aloe vera, and is completely paraben free. It also manages avoid being greasy while also being incredibly moisturizing at the same time, which I love!
I was so excited to try this once I saw it in my ipsy bag this month! The product description on ipsy's website says that you can use this product alone or with your favorite cleanser, or you can use it with coconut oil or honey. I wanted to see the results from using it alone, and holy crap this stuff is gritty. Needless to say, I'm definitely going to use it alongside something creamy next time (I'm really interested to try it with honey, as the website suggested), but I did notice that my skin was really smooth after the initial irritation from all the grittiness subsided. I can't wait to try it again!
While I love the oxblood color of this lip product, it's kind of difficult to apply. For instance, I just tried to put it on my lips and now I look like a clown...but, I think that it could look really great once I practiced a bit more. It's incredibly pigmented, affordable ($4.99!), and comes in a huge variety of Alice in Wonderland inspired colors (which I freaking love). Click on the link above to see all 18 gorgeous shades!
I wasn't very excited about this tiny little bottle of white goop at first, but I fell in love once I applied it onto my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose. It's not a drastically noticeable difference, but I caught myself doing double takes in the mirror because I looked so healthy and awake even though it was 8:00 at night. This liquid highlighter in "Pink Pearl" can be used to highlight, contour, and illuminate the face and body, and retails for $27.50 for just 1 oz. of product (woah). According to ipsy's website, this highlighter is a "cult favorite for makeup artists around the globe", and I can definitely see why!
