Hey, hi, hello! Today I'm spotlighting one of my most used eyeshadow palettes from the drugstore, which is the "Golden Horizons" palette from NYX's Dream Catcher series (featured in my March Beauty Favorites). I'm a big fan of this palette for several reasons, but mainly for it's nice selection of neutral colors (which I gravitate towards like a moth to a porch light) in a variety of matte, satin, and shimmer finishes.
I wish each of the shades had a fun little name so I could identify and describe them more easily, but I suppose we'll just have to make it through this post without them. Anyhow, as you can see from the picture above, I'm a frequent user of the light brown shade in the middle of the top row, which I usually apply to my eyelid and then darken my crease with the brown directly to the right of it.
I'm also a big fan of the light pink shade on the bottom row (second from the right), which actually sold me on this palette in the first place. While I don't use it as often as the brown shades, it has a gorgeous satiny finish that looks really pretty on minimal makeup days. Finally, I love the satiny orange shade on the right of the top row, which gives your eyelids a nice warm glow that's perfect for summer.
If you have the chance to get your hands on this palette, I would definitely recommend giving it a go. It's usually around $15 at Ulta and Target, so it's much more affordable than similar palettes from high end brands, plus the quality is better than most other drugstore eyeshadows I've tried.
