Oh, Target. Never has anything ever sucked me into the vast black hole of consumerism quite like that intoxicating little red bullseye on that sickeningly cute white dog. Why, Target, why? Basically, I went yesterday with my mom while she stopped at the optical center for new contacts, and needless to say, I made irresponsible decisions while waiting for her.
First of all, I'm crazy about this black and white striped shirt. It's hella comfy, the fit is really flattering, and the zipper detail in the back really steps it up from your average v-neck tee. I honestly would have bought every color it comes in, but they didn't have my size in black (double damn, because black is my one true love).
Aside from my love of all things black and neutral, I somehow managed to end up in the dressing room with these bright orange shorts. They're now probably the brightest item of clothing in my closet, and frankly, I'm kind of afraid of them. I really love how comfy they are, though, and they have super deep pockets that are perfect for storing my phone (and cookies! Just kidding, but a girl can dream, right?).
In addition to my new outfit that somewhat resembles prison garb, I also fell in love with some office things that somehow managed to hop into my basket. I bought Ellen Degeneres' book, Seriously...I'm Kidding , which I started reading last night. It's great. I promise. Read it. I didn't even know that Ellen had a book, but Target just has this magical way of making things spontaneously appear in your shopping cart, you know?
If you haven't spent a significant amount of time digging in Target's dollar section, then I highly suggest that you do just that the next time you're there. I found these adorable letter stamps, sticky notes, and thank you cards that all have the cutest and most beautiful packaging known to man. In case you've been living under a rock, watercolor designs and handwritten fonts are a big stinking deal lately, so I was super excited to find these adorable office supplies for less than $5 each.
Last, but not least, it wouldn't be a successful trip to Target without purchasing some new beauty products. I've been looking for a good BB/CC cream lately, and I'm actually really pleased with this one from Pacifica. Even though I accidentally bought Medium instead of Light, it still blends in really nicely and does a great job of warming up my complexion and evening out my skin tone without feeling heavy or too greasy on my face (plus, it's made with coconut water, so it smells ahhhh-mazing). According to the Pacifica website, this product won the "Best CC Cream of the Year" in 2014 from the Natural Health Beauty Awards, so I knew it had to be great when I bought it!
Finally, as if I needed another skincare product in my life, I read the reviews for this Yes to Tomatoes Activated Charcoal Soap and knew I just had to have it. I used it for the first time this morning, and believe it or not, it smells really nice (not at all like a barbecue in the middle of July, as I had anticipated). While I originally bought this for my body (I'm talking about you, shoulder acne), it apparently also works great on your face, too! I will say that it left my skin feeling a little tight and draggy rather than soft and smooth, but once I added some moisturizer afterwards everything felt completely back to normal.
