Spontaneous Shuffle (Vol.II)

I'm mixing things up again! Today I'm setting aside my every day makeup staples and digging through my ever-growing collection to re-visit some old friends and try out a few new products. Read below to see what I used in this month's Spontaneous Shuffle!

I'm so in love with Urban Decay's Naked line, and this palette is no exception. In the past, I mostly stuck to using the pinky and mauve shades on the left side of the palette, but today I decided to mix it up and leave my comfort zone. I applied "Trick" (the orangey bronze shade in the middle of the palette) all over my lid, blended "Nooner" (to the right of "Trick") into my crease, and then lightly lined my upper and lower lash line with "Factory" (3 down from "Trick" on the right). I never wear a heavy eyeshadow look, so this ended up still being very neutral and minimal, but "Trick" added a nice shine and brightness to my eyelids, which was a nice change from my usual every day matte shadows.

I've had this mascara since I ordered my Lorac PRO 2 eyeshadow palette a few months ago, but I haven't really played with it much since then. After using it today, I really like how the shape of the applicator brush gives my lashes a fanned out effect, which I think really helps to open up the eyes. It wasn't very thickening, but I generally prefer length over volume, so I was satisfied! It also did a good job of coating my bottom lashes, which is something I usually have trouble with due to clumping and getting product under my eyes.

I included this duo in my August Beauty Favorites  post a while back, and I can't figure out why I've neglected it since then, because this is such a great product. As I've mentioned before, this duo is an amazing dupe for the "Orgasm" blush and "Laguna" bronzer from NARS, but so much more affordable! I love the subtle shimmer in the bronzer, and the blush adds such a pretty and natural looking flush to your cheeks. It's safe to say that using this duo today made me fall in love with e.l.f. products all over again.

Ok, have any of you tried this foundation before?I swear this stuff is magical.I always hate it after I first apply it; it looks too dark, it's splotchy, and the coverage is awful. But somehow, within a few minutes, my skin looks amazing. The formula of this beauty balm adjusts to your natural skin tone, it's firming, and adds a beautiful and luminous glow while still managing to appear super natural and minimal. I think it's time to upgrade from my sample size and purchase the big boy.

I got this eyeliner as part of a free birthday offer from Julep's Maven Box, a monthly subscription service that sends full sized lip, eye, and nail products. I have more black eyeliners than any girl could ever need, but I was really impressed with this one. It's so buttery and pigmented, and so much easier to work with than a traditional liner. For anyone else who has ever poked herself on the eyelid with a jagged edge of a wooden pencil liner, I sympathize with you. Beauty is pain, they say, but that pain should not involve your peepers.

About a year or so ago, I remember everyone and their mother raving on and on about how amazing these Butter Glosses from NYX were on Youtube. After hearing about the millionth review on them, I decided that enough was enough-I needed to try this stuff, and lo and behold, this lipgloss is incredible. It smells delicious, it's incredibly smooth and creamy without thestickiness that I talked about in my last post, and the color is so light, flirty, and gorgeous. Plus, it's a drugstore brand, so it'll only set you back about five dollars or so. Do yourself a favor and try this stuff.

Thanks so much for reading! Have you tried any of these products before? Do you ever shake it up with your own makeup collection? Leave a comment down below and get the conversation started! ♥
